Accountability

A real relationship, with real accountability

Godparenting at SREF is structured, documented and reported on. You are not sending money into silence.

  • Quarterly interviews. A scheduled conversation with your godchild each cycle.
  • Monthly progress reports. Three per quarter, covering schooling, health and wellbeing.
  • Mentorship & guidance. A dedicated mentor stays engaged alongside the sponsorship.
  • Annual audited reports. Independently reviewed, published each fiscal year.
  • Godchild Protection Policy. Safeguarding rules that govern every interaction.

We match based on need and on the fit between a child's situation and what a godparent can commit to. You will be introduced to your godchild before the first interview.

Yes. SREF is a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 33-3224010), and contributions are deductible to the fullest extent allowed by U.S. law.

You can pause or end a sponsorship at any time. Tell us as early as you can so we can arrange continuity of care for the child before it takes effect.

Visits are possible and are arranged through SREF under the Godchild Protection Policy. Direct contact details are never exchanged without safeguarding in place.
